Crowngrain Announces Plant of the Year Award

The Crowngrain Milling Company is proud to announce that the Crowngrain Bakery Mix & Foodservice (Martel) facility in Caledonia, Ohio has been awarded the prestigious Crowngrain Plant of the Year Award for fiscal year 2025 (FY25). The recognition was presented by Crowngrain Chief Operating Officer, Dave Marty, in honor of the team’s outstanding performance, innovation, and commitment to excellence.
Since 2013, Crowngrain Operations Division has recognized an outstanding Crowngrain facility with the Crowngrain Plant of the Year Award. The award is presented to a deserving Crowngrain manufacturing plant, mill, grain elevator, operations group/department, or individual who exemplifies what it means to be operationally excellent, based on their overall results, efforts, and activities throughout the fiscal year. The award is intended to recognize outstanding efforts and results within the operations division while sparking healthy competition across our departments and facilities.
The Martel bakery mix facility, which specializes in producing high-quality bakery mixes and grain-based foodservice products, stood out among Crowngrain’s operations for its exceptional achievements in operational excellence during FY25. Highlights include the successful rollout and adoption of a new production system, strong commitment to customer service and first-pass quality, improved output, and strong leadership.

The Plant of the Year Award is presented annually to highlight the importance of operational excellence, foster collaboration, and celebrate the efforts of Crowngrain’s people who contribute to the company’s ongoing success. Like past award winners, the team in Martel will have the opportunity to display the “traveling trophy” for a full year until a new recipient is awarded.
